One of Many Resolutions

If there is one thing that captures my desire more than the lust of anything, it is the knowledge of my Heavenly Father.  Oh, how tempted, distracted, and befallen I am in this pursuit.  Oh, how my sin wrestles to drive a wedge between the two of us, but praise be to God for His wonderful persistence in chastening me.  His marvelous hand guides me along the path of discipline as a kind, yet stern, father nurtures his child.  He does not pardon my sin, but judges it righteously, reminding me of His Son who took His Father's wrath for my sake.

It is my desire to know my Heavenly Father's love.  No other faith, worldview, or religion can offer a holy, personal, compassionate, loving, patient, yet just, true, vehement, Judge who is willing to offer Himself in place of my unrighteousness.

Let this be my resolution for 2014, may I come to know better the mystery of a God who is perfect and holy, but is close and personable enough to reveal Himself as our Father.
