Why Is Time?
I would like to have a better understanding of "time". I feel that the uncertainty of time is what makes it so difficult to deal with. Time is merely the way we measure weathering and aging upon material objects and beings, yet as the days reveal themselves to me, I see time to be more of an instrument utilized by God.
Everybody has heard of God's perfect time. It is never early, never late, yet it operates outside of the reach of our understanding. As finite beings we can only study time as being something that we are subject to, as opposed to it being something custom tailored to meet our each and every need. Perhaps to lessen the anxiety of the ticking clock, we must first get an idea of God's perfect will for our lives.
Blessed are we that have a computer, that can access this post. That can sit within shelter provided by the builders and designers of this great land. However there are those, in far away places, and right down the road, that have the least of these. No higher education, no fancy clothing, no mode of transportation, not even food or clean drinking water... Can you imagine a place that operates on a different social plane than that of which we have here in America? It is extremely difficult for me to even leave my ignorant thought loop of financial depravity, to look outside the walls of denial where there is a world that is impoverished and in desperate need of hope. To those searching for that will in your life, take into consideration the people beneath the overpass at your local intersection, or the child awaiting virtually non existent medical care in the mountains of Bolivia. Just imagine the blood on your hands as children are being thrown away at your local planned parenthood, as we standby and watch... These are only three examples of where God wants us to place ourselves armed with the spiritual weaponry of the gospel. To where do you see yourself?
We have seen through the history of the bible, from old testament to new, that God had been operating according to plan through an immense period of time. Thousands of years to this day, we are acting and living as it was written. We are merely an amendment to the scripture and that through each one of our lives, even those that don't believe, God is using them to prove His almighty point. There is entirely too much scripture that provides us evidence at God's puppetry with time, so I will only advise you to get into His word and see for yourself!
So now that we know that time is a tool, used to carve out an infinite purpose... We must ask ourselves again, what is our purpose in time? How is the time that we have been allotted adequate for us? From the sick and dying, to the young and prosperous, the weathered and matured, and the stillborn infants that never see the world... There is only one TRUE purpose we may serve, indicated to us through God's holy word. We are to be the disciples of Jesus Christ. It is by love we bring life and through love we give life. Do not allow the stillborn to be a complete loss to the family who has no faith. It is within our time that we may reach out to those who are searching, starving, and dying within their time. Blessed are we who have the hope of tomorrow, and the promise of eternity. Time is not of the essence to us, yet the anxiety of the countdown beats at the hearts and souls of the world. I pray personally, that I may become less selfish with the use of my time. As well as the peace and patience in understanding God's perfect timing in my life. May we find the patience to allow time to unravel, and may we find the time in our days to make time for the Lord of all creation.
