I'm tired and full of ideas...
As I lackadaisically drift along the mundane tasks of my weekly obligations, I broadcast songs of faith and truth into a much rather depraved environment. Most of the time receiving inglorious responses and reactions, yet only am I minding my own being. Today I decided to compare scenarios. Based upon the ideals of cultural relativity (The idea that we must accept all that is within a civilized culture for the sake of being accepted), people do not dare refute that of which they do not understand. For example, say I was the Hindi man, listening to some of his favorite religious mantra's and chants in a public setting. Of course many would have opinions of their own, but few would approach to attack his faith and ultimately have his music shut down. Yet for whatever reason, on a daily basis, I am asked to silence my praise. Is it the work of ignorance or something far more sinister that is displayed by the secular division daily, or do the two co-exist on a subliminal plane unseen by those who partake?
To what respect does a man deserve? Does he deserve respect when he is clearly wrong? To which authoritative institution is the responsibility swept to? And why do we feel the need accept all that is clearly abused with loving grace when grace is not embraced as a whole? The solutions to these inquires go beyond that of what I can answer. So without further illustration, I ask you to place yourself in comparison. Are you one who stands for ethic, be it what it may, or one who stands for cultural relativity? Are you one who attempts to apply artificial grace to those around you in efforts to exalt your society? To what is more important to your being; your ambition, your calling, your nation, your purpose, or some other unknown absolute?
It seems to me that people today, in efforts to glorify their self boasting egos, accept all in which they deem respectable, besides absolute truth. All fancy wording aside, it's quite simple, people are much too prideful to succumb to something beyond themselves. Yet in a day's life we submit to powers we cannot control with each passing moment. Gravity, time, atmospheric condition, physics.... But just as the red light indicates we stop, many often refuse to and are greeted with swift consequence. It is in the mind of the individual that one may tinker with the parameters of what is deemed acceptable, hence altering the timing of the light. The danger is present in the ideology, but the reality is the world in which we live. Take a walk around, and look before you leap. If you have yet to consult the absolute truth, his name is Jesus, and his truths remain unadulterated. All conform to his parameters, and all reasoning dwells within his being. He is the light that cast the shadow upon the world. The darkness makes all attempts to remain hidden within the shade, until all that stands before the light is removed to shine and illuminate the uncertain.
